The HARVEY TOOL 49893 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 3/32 inch cutter diameter and a 1/2 inch length of cut, this tool is built for small-feature work where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 2-inch overall length and 1/8 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard collet and chuck setups. A 20-degree helix angle and upcut flute geometry promote chip evacuation during cutting. The bright uncoated finish makes it suitable for a range of base materials where coating adhesion is not required. Machinists and CNC operators install this tool in vertical machining centers and mill-drill setups for slotting, profiling, and contouring work.
This end mill is suited for small-diameter milling tasks in job shop, tool and die, and production machining environments. It is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool with 2 flutes, making it appropriate for moderate chip loads in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Its compact diameter is well suited for tight-tolerance features, fine detail slots, and small pocket milling where larger tooling cannot access the geometry.
Designed as a standard-shank solid carbide square end mill with a 1/8 inch shank diameter, compatible with 1/8 inch collets and chucks used in CNC vertical machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder matching the 1/8 inch shank diameter and torque the retention mechanism per the machine manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as small-diameter carbide tooling is sensitive to misalignment and prone to breakage under lateral load.
