The HARVEY TOOL 49231-C4 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/32 inch (0.0310 inch decimal) ball nose diameter with a 3-flute, right-hand spiral configuration and a 30-degree helix angle. The amorphous diamond PVD coating reduces friction and extends tool life in aluminum, copper, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. With a stub flute length and extended long-reach geometry, this end mill handles tight-tolerance profiling, slotting, and contouring in areas where standard-reach tools cannot reach. It is used by machinists and CNC operators working on precision components in aerospace, medical, and general metalworking applications.
This end mill is suited for finish and roughing passes on non-ferrous metals in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle setups. The 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard collets and tool holders commonly found in vertical machining centers and micro-machining setups. The long-reach, stub-flute design is particularly useful when clearing pockets or profiling features in deep cavities where reduced flute length provides rigidity and minimizes deflection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment for CNC machining centers and micro-milling setups accepting a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully in the collet and torque the collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. At 1/32 inch diameter, this is a fragile tool - avoid side-loading beyond recommended chip load values and use appropriate high-speed spindle RPM for non-ferrous milling. Inspect the cutting edge and coating condition before each use.
