The HARVEY TOOL 48545 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for deburring, chamfering, and edge-breaking operations on machined components. The cutter runs a 90-degree included angle with a right-hand cutting direction, making it suitable for standard chamfer work on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. At 1/4 inch in diameter with three flutes and a bright uncoated finish, this end mill is a go-to choice for machinists who need clean, consistent chamfers on smaller features without a coating that could add diameter variation. Overall length is 4 inches with a 1/4 inch shank diameter.
This chamfer mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills across job shops, production floors, and toolroom environments. It fits standard 1/4 inch collets and tool holders, making it easy to integrate into existing setups. Typical applications include chamfering through-holes, countersink prep, and edge-breaking on aluminum, steel, stainless, and similar materials. The single-end design means the cutter is replaced rather than rotated when worn.
Designed as a direct-fit chamfer mill for any machining center or manual mill equipped with a 1/4 inch collet, ER collet chuck, or end mill holder accepting a 1/4 inch shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in an e-stop state before installing or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before running the first part to protect both the cutter and the workpiece.
