The HARVEY TOOL 47660-C3 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for precise chamfering, deburring, and edge-breaking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The cutter features a 1/4 inch cutter head diameter, 2 right-hand flutes, and an AlTiN coating that extends tool life under high-heat cutting conditions. With an overall length of 2.5 inches and a 1/4 inch shank diameter, the 47660-C3 is sized for compact setups and tight-clearance work. The 60 and 120 degree included angle geometry supports a range of chamfer profiles in a single tool. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production environments, and tool rooms rely on this style of chamfer mill for consistent edge prep and countersink work.
The 47660-C3 is suited for use in vertical machining centers and manual mills where chamfering, spot drilling, and deburring tasks are performed on steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials. The AlTiN coating makes it a practical choice for dry or minimal-lubrication cutting on harder materials. The single end configuration and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. This tool is appropriate for both production and prototype work where clean, consistent chamfers are required on drilled holes, part edges, and countersink features.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chamfer mill for use in standard 1/4 inch collet chucks and milling tool holders on CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool installation and before cutting. Follow the machine manufacturer and tool manufacturer recommendations for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material and coating type.
