The HARVEY TOOL 47641 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for chamfering, deburring, and countersinking operations on a wide range of materials. Built with 2 flutes and a 1/4 inch cutter head diameter, this single-end tool produces clean, consistent chamfers in a right-hand cutting direction. The bright, uncoated finish makes it suitable for applications where coating buildup or heat sensitivity is a concern. With an overall length of 2-1/2 inches and a 1/4 inch shank diameter, it fits standard collets and tool holders common in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 82 and 98 degree included angle geometry covers common countersink and chamfer requirements in precision machining environments. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This chamfer mill is suited for use in job shops, production machining facilities, and toolroom applications. It handles chamfering on metals, plastics, and composites where a compact, short-shank tool is appropriate. The 1/4 inch diameter and 2-flute configuration make it practical for work on smaller features and tighter part geometries. Its solid carbide construction supports higher surface speeds compared to high-speed steel alternatives, making it a workable choice for both ferrous and non-ferrous materials in short-run and production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting 1/4 inch shank chamfer mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or collet nut is properly engaged before securing the tool. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after tool installation to maintain chamfer quality and tool life. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed selection based on workpiece material.
