The HARVEY TOOL 42809-C3 is a miniature corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. Built from solid carbide with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating, it handles steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composites. The tool measures 0.1406 inches in diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius, a 3-inch overall length, and a 3/4-inch reach length that provides extended access into deep pockets and narrow features. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle provide efficient chip evacuation for both roughing and finishing operations. It is center-cutting and runs in standard toolholders used by CNC machinists and precision milling specialists.
This end mill belongs to the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills - Corner Radius - Long Reach, Stub Flute series. It is suited for milling operations that require extended reach into deep cavities while maintaining a small cutting diameter. The stub flute geometry reduces deflection in long-reach applications. Primary workpiece materials include steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), non-ferrous metal (N), and composites. The straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 3/16 inches fits standard collets and toolholders used in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle setups.
Designed for use with standard CNC toolholders and collet systems accepting a 3/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite workpiece materials as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists using a compatible collet or toolholder rated for the 3/16-inch shank diameter. Confirm runout and tool stick-out before engaging the cut, as extended-reach tools are more sensitive to deflection at higher overhangs. Ensure the spindle and axis drives are fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or removing the tool. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and shop SOP for cutter speed, feed rate, and depth-of-cut recommendations specific to the workpiece material.
