The HARVEY TOOL 41531-C3 is a miniature corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from solid carbide with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating, this single-end tool runs a 0.031-inch cutting diameter, a 0.01-inch corner radius, and a 3-flute right-hand helical geometry with a 30-degree helix angle. The extended-reach, stub-flute configuration provides rigidity in tight spaces while the long-reach shank — 2.5 inches overall length with a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank — allows access to deep or confined features. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers in precision machining shops are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials. The stub flute and extended reach design make it well matched to deep-pocket milling, thin-wall profiling, and detail work where a standard-length end mill lacks clearance. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous applications. Right-hand cutting direction and normal pitch make it compatible with conventional CNC machining center toolholders. It is center-cutting, so plunge entry is supported.
Compatible with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter, including collet chucks and end mill holders used on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials as identified by ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and O.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Verify spindle and toolholder runout before seating the shank to minimize deflection on this small-diameter tool. Secure the 1/8-inch shank fully within the collet or holder bore to the manufacturer-recommended gauge-line depth. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the tool, following standard machine-guarding practices.
