The HARVEY TOOL 39462-C3 is a miniature solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and long-reach applications. Built with 3 helical flutes and a 0.005 inch corner radius, this single-end tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a compact 0.062 inch diameter. The AlTiN PVD coating improves heat resistance and wear life when cutting steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. With a 2.5 inch overall length and a 0.75 inch reach length, this tool reaches into deep pockets and narrow channels where standard-length end mills cannot access. It is sized for use in a straight-cylindrical toolholder and is suited for CNC machining centers running right-hand rotation.
This end mill targets machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in mold making, medical device manufacturing, aerospace components, and precision parts production. The stub flute and extended reach geometry allow the tool to clear walls while maintaining rigidity in deep-cavity work. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composites, making it a versatile option across production and prototype environments where small-diameter, long-reach cutting is required.
Designed for use with a standard straight-cylindrical toolholder. Suited for CNC machining of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composites. Part of the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills Corner Radius Long Reach Stub Flute series.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC tooling and small-diameter end mill handling. Ensure the toolholder collet bore matches the 0.125 inch shank diameter and that runout is minimized before cutting, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to deflection and can fracture under excessive lateral load. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Handle solid carbide tools carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges during setup and storage.
