The HARVEY TOOL 37815-C6 is a solid carbide ball end mill engineered for finishing operations in hardened steels and other hard materials. With a 1/64 inch (0.0150 inch) mill diameter and a 0.30 mm length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance, small-feature finishing work. The AlTiN Nano PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness retention at elevated cutting temperatures, making it well suited for high-speed finishing passes. Two right-hand spiral flutes with a 20-degree helix angle promote chip evacuation and surface finish quality. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals choose this series for its dimensional consistency in demanding hardened-material applications.
This end mill is intended for finishing passes on hard materials including hardened steels, stainless steel, and cast iron. Its stub-length profile and extended reach design make it appropriate for CNC milling operations where access to small, deep, or confined features is required. The straight cylindrical shank seats in standard 1/4 inch collet systems. It is a single-end tool and is not reversible. Typical applications include die work, mold finishing, and precision part machining where the workpiece hardness demands carbide tooling with protective coating.
Designed for finishing operations on hard materials including hardened steels, stainless steel, and cast iron. Compatible with standard 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical collet tool holders on CNC milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard CNC tooling procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Torque the collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout at setup, as small-diameter carbide end mills are sensitive to misalignment that can cause premature breakage.
