The HARVEY TOOL 36230 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the base of machined features. The 4-flute, right-hand helical geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. With a 2.5 inch overall length and a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank, it mounts directly into a standard toolholder without adapters. The uncoated bright finish makes wear inspection straightforward during production runs.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and composite materials. The stub and standard series designation means it is sized for tight-clearance work and shorter overhangs where rigidity matters. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use corner radius end mills like this to produce radiused floor features, blend surfaces, and extend tool life compared to sharp-corner geometries. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool, so plunge entry and slot milling are both supported within the rated LOC.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. Rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, wood, and composite workpiece materials per manufacturer specifications.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked out before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder to the minimum clamping depth before torquing the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout at the cutting edge after installation and before beginning a production cycle, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
