The HARVEY TOOL 35431 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight-geometry applications. With a 1/32 inch (0.031 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.046 inch length of cut, this tool is built for small-feature work where dimensional accuracy is critical. It runs three flutes with a 30-degree right-hand helix and is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. The 1/8 inch shank keeps it compatible with standard collet systems, and the bright uncoated finish suits a broad range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians working with CNC machining centers and manual mills are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for fine detail milling, slot cutting, and profiling on small workpieces in materials including aluminum, brass, plastics, and light steel alloys. The extended reach design, with a 3/8 inch reach length and 2.5 inch overall length, allows access to features that standard stub-reach tools cannot reach. It is a single-end tool, so once worn it is not indexable. Typical applications include mold work, medical component machining, electronics fixtures, and small mechanical parts requiring tight tolerances.
Designed for use with 1/8 inch collets or collet chucks on CNC machining centers, CNC routers, and manual milling machines capable of accommodating small-diameter end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Always power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the collet. Ensure the collet bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank, and torque the collet nut to the collet manufacturer specification. Due to the small diameter, avoid excessive overhang beyond what the application requires to minimize deflection and tool breakage risk.
