The HARVEY TOOL 35430-C3 is a miniature square end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and small-feature work. Built from solid carbide, it runs a 0.03125-inch (1/32 inch) cutting diameter with a 0.045-inch length of cut and a 30-degree helix angle. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. With a 1/8-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length, this end mill fits standard collet systems used on CNC machining centers and precision manual mills. Installation and operation are handled by machinists and CNC programmers working in tool and die, mold, and precision component applications.
This end mill is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes in small-cavity and micro-feature milling. The 3-flute configuration balances chip evacuation and finish quality at the small diameters where tool deflection and chip packing are primary concerns. The extended reach design, with a 0.375-inch reach length, allows access to recessed features and stepped pockets that shorter stub-length tools cannot reach. It is centercutting, enabling plunge entry and ramp milling strategies without requiring a pre-drilled start hole.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and precision mills with 1/8-inch collet or end mill holders. Suitable for ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys where AlTiN coating performance is advantageous.
Secure the 1/8-inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder - runout at the cutting diameter is critical at this tool size and should be minimized before running. Confirm spindle rotation is set to right-hand before engaging the cut. At 0.03125-inch diameter, feed rates and depth of cut must be carefully calculated; consult manufacturer feeds-and-speeds data for the specific workpiece material. Handle micro-diameter carbide tooling with care to avoid chipping the flutes during loading and unloading.
