The HARVEY TOOL 34655 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining applications. With a 1.4 mm (0.0550 inch) cutting diameter and a 2.1 mm (0.083 inch) length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in small-feature geometries. The 3-flute configuration balances chip evacuation with cutting edge contact, making it well-suited for harder materials and finishing passes. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduced vibration. The bright, uncoated finish maintains sharp edge geometry without the added coating thickness that can affect dimensional accuracy at this scale.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers for micro-milling operations on metals, composites, and engineering plastics. The 1/8 inch (0.125 inch) shank fits standard collet systems commonly found in vertical machining centers and high-speed spindle setups. Its 2.5 inch overall length provides adequate reach while maintaining rigidity. Typical applications include mold work, medical component machining, aerospace part finishing, and precision die work where small-diameter cutters are required.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with 1/8 inch collet or collet chuck systems accepting standard straight-shank solid carbide end mills at this diameter range.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the collet and collet nut are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the specified gauge length. At this diameter, excessive overhang beyond the recommended reach length increases deflection risk and tool breakage. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting cutting parameters for micro-diameter carbide tooling.
