The HARVEY TOOL 34631-C3 is a miniature square end mill designed for precise slot milling, profiling, and finishing operations in tight geometries. Built from solid carbide, it carries an AlTiN coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. The cutter measures 0.031 inches in diameter with a 3-flute configuration and a 30-degree helix angle, delivering a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish quality in small-feature machining. This tool is single-end, centercutting, and runs right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction. It is installed and operated by machinists on CNC milling equipment.
This end mill is suited for micro-milling applications in mold and die work, medical device manufacturing, aerospace components, and precision instrument machining. The 3/64-inch length of cut and 1/4-inch reach length make it appropriate for shallow pocket work and fine-detail passes where larger cutters cannot reach. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and small-bore tool holders commonly found on high-speed machining centers and micro-milling spindles. It is well-matched to applications requiring tight tolerances and clean edge geometry in hard or abrasive workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1/8-inch shank tool holders and ER collet systems on CNC milling machines and micro-machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and runout specs. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended gauge depth to minimize runout and prevent pullout. At this diameter, excessive cutting forces or incorrect feeds and speeds can cause tool breakage — always verify parameters against the manufacturer cutting data before running.
