The HARVEY TOOL 34630 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and small-feature work. With a 1/32-inch cutting diameter and a 0.045-inch length of cut, this tool is built for high-accuracy profiling, slotting, and finishing passes where tool rigidity and dimensional control are critical. The 3-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with cutting edge strength, making it well-suited for harder materials and fine-detail work. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces radial cutting forces. Center-cutting capability allows for direct plunging. Solid carbide construction delivers the stiffness required at this diameter to minimize deflection and hold tight tolerances.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle setups where small-diameter tooling is required. Typical applications include micro-milling of molds, dies, medical components, aerospace parts, and electronic housings. The 1/8-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collet systems including ER11 and ER16 collets, as well as dedicated micro-tool holders. The uncoated carbide substrate is appropriate for a range of materials including aluminum, brass, plastics, and certain steels when used with appropriate speeds, feeds, and cutting fluids.
Designed for use with standard 1/8-inch collet systems and micro-tool holders on CNC machining centers and high-speed milling spindles requiring a square end mill at 1/32-inch diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retaining nut per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. At this diameter, tool runout and holder cleanliness are critical — inspect and clean the collet bore before each use to prevent premature tool breakage.
