The HARVEY TOOL 34630-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.0300-inch cutting diameter and a 0.045-inch length of cut, this tool targets tight-tolerance slots, pockets, and profiling passes in hardened steels and exotic alloys where rigidity and sharp edge retention are critical. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in dry or near-dry cutting conditions. A 30-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation across the three flutes. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists rely on tools in this class for micro-milling operations in tool-and-die, aerospace, and medical device work.
This end mill fits small-diameter applications requiring extended reach, with a 0.25-inch reach length beyond the shank. The 0.125-inch shank diameter mounts directly into standard 1/8-inch collets, ER collet chucks, or precision hydraulic holders. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. The 2.5-inch overall length provides clearance for deeper workpiece features without custom tooling setups. Typical use cases include finish milling of hardened mold cavities, engraving detail passes, and precision contouring in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle platforms.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed milling spindles accepting 1/8-inch shank tooling via ER collet or precision hydraulic chuck systems. Suitable for right-hand-cut applications in hardened steels, stainless, titanium, and similar alloys where AlTiN coating performance is appropriate.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always confirm spindle runout and collet condition before seating a small-diameter end mill, as excessive runout accelerates tool breakage at this diameter range. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before tool changes. Follow shop-standard torque procedures for collet nut tightening and verify tool stick-out matches programmed values before cutting.
