The HARVEY TOOL 34610 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision micro-machining applications. With a 0.01-inch cutting diameter and a 1/64-inch (0.015-inch) length of cut, this tool is built for extremely fine detail work where tight dimensional tolerances are required. The three-flute geometry balances chip evacuation and surface finish quality at micro-scale cutting diameters. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces axial cutting forces. The bright, uncoated finish makes this tool suitable for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites where coating adhesion or heat buildup is not a concern. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction.
This end mill is used in CNC milling operations that require micro-diameter tooling, such as engraving, slotting, and profiling in precision components. Typical applications include mold and die work, medical device manufacturing, aerospace part detail machining, and electronics component fabrication. The 1/8-inch shank diameter allows the tool to seat in standard collet systems commonly found on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle setups. The 2.5-inch overall length provides adequate clearance for most standard setups without sacrificing rigidity at this diameter.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle systems equipped with standard 1/8-inch collets or collet chucks compatible with micro-diameter solid carbide end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before tool changes. Use a properly sized precision collet rated for 1/8-inch shank tooling and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as runout has an outsized effect on tool life and accuracy at micro diameters. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the 0.015-inch length of cut specification.
