The HARVEY TOOL 33512-C3 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hard materials. With a 0.1875-inch (3/16-inch) diameter, a 3-flute helical geometry, and an AlTiN PVD coating, this tool delivers consistent performance in roughing and finishing operations. The stub-flute, long-reach configuration gives machinists access to tight pockets and deep features without sacrificing rigidity. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation, and the right-hand cutting and flute direction suits standard CNC milling setups. This end mill is intended for use by professional machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments.
This tool is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron in both roughing and finishing passes. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness retention at elevated cutting temperatures, making it a reliable choice for dry or semi-dry machining of ferrous workpiece materials. The straight cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard end mill holders, collet chucks, or shrink-fit toolholders. The long-reach, stub-flute design is particularly applicable in cavity milling, contour finishing, and complex 3D surface work where extended reach is required without excessive flute overhang.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard straight-bore end mill holders or collet chucks sized for a 3/16-inch shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (material codes P, M, and K). Coolant-through tooling is not supported by this tool; external or semi-dry coolant strategies apply.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC or manual milling setup procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify runout at the tool tip after clamping, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a small-diameter carbide end mill. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer recommendations for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut when programming for this tool geometry.
