The HARVEY TOOL 33220 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision micro-milling applications. With a cutting diameter of 0.5 mm (0.0200 inches) and a 3-flute geometry, it delivers clean, accurate cuts in tight-tolerance work. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining cutting edge stability at small diameters. The bright/uncoated finish suits a wide range of workpiece materials where coating interaction is a concern. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.125-inch shank, this tool seats in standard collet chucks and tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Machinists, toolmakers, and precision fabricators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for micro-scale slotting, profiling, and contouring operations in CNC machining environments. The 1/32-inch length of cut (0.03 inches) and 0.1-inch reach length make it appropriate for shallow-depth passes in detailed part geometries. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction follow standard milling conventions. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into material. Typical applications include precision mold work, medical device components, electronics hardware, and fine detail machining in metals, plastics, and composites.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with a 1/8-inch collet or compatible tool holder accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the collet. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet nut is properly torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specification. At 0.5 mm diameter, this end mill is highly susceptible to breakage from runout, excessive feed rates, or improper tool projection — verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting.
