The HARVEY TOOL 32305 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling in hard materials, steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. With a 3.00 mm (0.118 inch) mill diameter and a 3-flute, variable helix geometry, this tool delivers smooth chip evacuation and reduced chatter during finishing passes. The long flute design provides a 5/8 inch length of cut, making it well-suited for profiling and contouring in deep cavities or tight geometries. The bright uncoated finish keeps the carbide substrate exposed for direct application in materials where coating adhesion is less critical. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers rely on this class of miniature end mill for close-tolerance finishing work.
This end mill is built for finishing operations in hard materials and is commonly applied in mold and die, medical component, and precision aerospace machining. The 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet systems, and the 2.5 inch overall length gives adequate clearance for most vertical and horizontal CNC machining setups. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling on CNC mills. No coolant-through feature is present, so external coolant or air blast is the appropriate cooling method for this tool.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 1/8 inch collet or collet chuck systems. Primary workpiece materials include hard materials, steel, stainless steel, and cast iron per manufacturer specification.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Use a calibrated collet and torque wrench appropriate for 1/8 inch shank tooling to ensure proper grip without shank damage. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before production use, as miniature diameter end mills are sensitive to spindle and collet concentricity. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material.
