The HARVEY TOOL 32215-C4 is a miniature ball end mill designed for precision finishing in hard materials, steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Built from solid carbide and coated with an amorphous diamond PVD finish, this single-end tool delivers the wear resistance and edge retention required in tight-tolerance machining operations. The 1/64 inch (0.0150 inch) cutting diameter pairs with a 5/64 inch length of cut and a variable helix spiral flute geometry across 3 flutes, supporting chip evacuation and surface finish quality in demanding materials. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This end mill is suited for CNC milling applications requiring small-diameter, long-flute reach in ferrous and hard material workpieces. The long-flute series designation makes it appropriate for slots, pockets, and contoured surfaces where standard-length tools cannot reach. It is intended for use in machining centers operated by skilled machinists or toolroom professionals working in finishing-pass applications on hard material stock. The amorphous diamond coating reduces friction and extends tool life in abrasive cutting conditions.
Designed for use in CNC milling machines accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is hard material; secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Part of the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills - Ball - Long Flute series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Verify collet or tool holder bore matches the 1/8 inch shank diameter and that runout is within acceptable limits before starting a cut. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and tool diameter. Miniature-diameter carbide tools are brittle and susceptible to breakage from side loading, vibration, or improper clamping.
