The HARVEY TOOL 31908 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.125-inch cutting diameter and a 0.625-inch length of cut, this tool delivers clean, flat-bottomed slots, pockets, and profiling cuts. The three-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with edge strength, making it well-suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. Micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and helps reduce heat buildup at the cutting edge.
This end mill is sized for light to medium milling work in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The long-length classification with a 2.5-inch overall length gives operators added reach for deeper setups without sacrificing rigidity at this diameter. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry into a workpiece. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation. The 0.125-inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, making it compatible with standard collet systems used in production and prototype machining environments.
Designed as a standard-shank square end mill compatible with 1/8-inch collets and tool holders used in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and similar equipment requiring a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet and torque the collet nut according to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, as runout at this diameter can significantly affect tool life and surface finish.
