The HARVEY TOOL 31847-C4 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding materials. With a 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch) cutting diameter and a 1/4 inch length of cut, this tool is built for fine detail work and tight-tolerance applications where tool deflection and edge integrity are critical. The amorphous diamond coating reduces friction and extends tool life in abrasive and non-ferrous materials. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the three-flute geometry balances chip load with surface finish quality. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in precision shops are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for small-feature milling operations in materials such as aluminum, composites, plastics, graphite, and other non-ferrous or abrasive workpiece materials where an amorphous diamond coating provides a measurable advantage. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and similar toolholding systems common on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles. At 2.5 inches overall length, the tool is appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth applications without excessive overhang. Single-end configuration means the tool is replaced rather than indexed when the cutting edge is worn.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed milling spindles equipped with 1/8 inch collet or toolholding systems. Best suited for non-ferrous metals, composites, plastics, and graphite based on the amorphous diamond coating.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder to the recommended gauge line and torque the collet nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear and breakage at this diameter.
