The HARVEY TOOL 31839-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. With a cutting diameter of 0.039 inches and a 3-flute geometry, this tool delivers fine detail cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting environments. A 30-degree helix angle balances chip evacuation with cutting edge stability. This end mill is single-end, center-cutting, and features right-hand cut with right-hand flute orientation. It is used by machinists and tooling specialists in CNC machining centers and manual milling operations.
This end mill is suited for micro-milling work in production and job-shop environments where small-diameter tooling is required. The 0.039-inch diameter makes it appropriate for fine detail work, slotting, profiling, and contouring in materials such as hardened steel, stainless steel, titanium, and similar difficult-to-machine alloys where AlTiN coating performance is most effective. The 13/64-inch length of cut and 1/8-inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard collet systems used on CNC machining centers. No extended reach configuration is included.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in 1/8-inch collet systems on CNC machining centers and milling machines requiring micro-diameter tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with CNC tooling practices. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the collet to the recommended gauge length to minimize runout and tool deflection. At 0.039-inch diameter, this tool is highly susceptible to breakage from excessive feed rates, improper clamping, or runout — verify collet condition and TIR before use.
