The HARVEY TOOL 31815-C3 is a miniature square end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), this tool delivers hardness and heat resistance suited for aggressive cutting in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. The 1/64 inch (0.0150 inch) cutting diameter, 5/64 inch (0.0780 inch) length of cut, and 3-flute geometry make it well suited for micro-slot milling, profiling, and detail work where tool deflection and runout must be minimized. The 1/8 inch shank fits standard collet systems used on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles.
This end mill is intended for use in precision machining environments where small-diameter tooling is required. Typical applications include micro-mold work, medical component machining, electronics enclosures, and fine detail profiling on hardened steels, stainless alloys, and non-ferrous metals. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the right-hand cut with right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC milling setups. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shop, production, or tool-and-die environments.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill with a 1/8 inch shank, compatible with standard ER collet systems and tool holders accepting 1/8 inch shank diameters on CNC machining centers and high-speed milling spindles.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle and machine are fully powered down and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before loading the end mill. Use a properly sized ER collet or precision tool holder to minimize runout, which is critical at this diameter. At 1/64 inch cutting diameter, even minor misalignment or excessive runout can result in tool breakage.
