The HARVEY TOOL 28180-C3 is a miniature solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. With a 0.08 inch mill diameter, a 1/64 inch (0.015 inch) corner radius, and a 4-flute helical geometry, this tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a single pass. The AlTiN PVD coating extends tool life when cutting ferrous and hard materials. The stub-length design and 0.125 inch straight cylindrical shank make it well suited for high-precision CNC machining centers and toolholders requiring a compact reach. It is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with no chipbreaker and no coolant-through feature.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC milling operations where small-diameter, high-accuracy cuts are required. It is rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials. The stub and standard series designation places it in light-to-moderate depth-of-cut applications where rigidity and minimal deflection are priorities. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision CNC operators working on mold work, prototype parts, or fine-detail contouring are the primary installers of this tooling.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 0.125 inch straight cylindrical shank. Rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metal, and composite workpiece materials per manufacturer specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle must be locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating to confirm proper shank engagement, as miniature-diameter tools are sensitive to even small amounts of deflection. Follow the machine manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications for the collet or set-screw style holder in use.
