The HARVEY TOOL 27424-C3 is a solid carbide drill mill designed to perform both drilling and end milling operations in a single tool. With a 3/8-inch diameter and a 100-degree point angle, it handles center drilling, spotting, chamfering, and peripheral milling without a tool change. The 7/8-inch length of cut and 4-flute geometry provide efficient chip evacuation and surface finish across a range of materials. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and hardened workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shop and production environments rely on this tool class to reduce setup time and consolidate operations.
The 27424-C3 is suited for use in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills where multi-operation tooling reduces cycle time. It is applicable in ferrous metals, hardened steels, and similar materials where the AlTiN finish provides thermal protection. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems commonly found in production and prototype shops. Typical applications include spotting, through-hole drilling, counterboring, and chamfering in a single plunge or contouring pass.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide drill mill compatible with standard 3/8-inch collet chucks, ER collet systems, and end mill holders used in CNC and manual milling applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder specification before operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a solid carbide tool.
