The HARVEY TOOL 27420-C3 is a solid carbide drill mill designed to perform both drilling and end milling operations in a single tool. With a 5/16 inch diameter and a 100-degree point angle, it enters material cleanly and transitions into side milling without a tool change. The 4-flute geometry supports efficient chip evacuation during milling passes. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. With an overall length of 2.5 inches and a 13/16 inch length of cut, this tool is suited for compact setups where rigidity matters.
This drill mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills across production and job-shop environments. It is well suited for applications requiring spot drilling, through-hole drilling, chamfering, and peripheral milling in the same operation. Machinists working with steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar ferrous alloys will benefit from the AlTiN finish under dry or minimal-lubrication conditions. The 5/16 inch shank diameter matches standard collet and end mill holder sizes.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotary cutting tool setup. Secure the shank fully within the collet or holder to the recommended gauge length before tightening. Confirm spindle runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the workpiece, as excessive runout accelerates carbide tool wear. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop before measuring, adjusting, or removing the tool.
