The HARVEY TOOL 27412 is a solid carbide drill mill designed to perform both drilling and milling operations in a single tool. With a 3/16 inch diameter and a 100-degree point angle, it handles center drilling, spot drilling, and end milling without a tool change. The 4-flute geometry supports efficient chip evacuation in a range of metalworking and machining applications. The bright uncoated finish suits use in materials where coating adhesion or heat buildup are less of a concern. Overall length is 2 inches, with a 5/8 inch length of cut. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This drill mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual milling machines where combined drilling and milling capability reduces setup time. The 3/16 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders of the same bore size. It performs well in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where an uncoated carbide tool is appropriate, including aluminum, brass, and mild steel. The 100-degree point angle is shallower than a standard 118-degree drill, reducing thrust forces during entry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide drill mill for CNC and manual milling machine setups requiring a 3/16 inch diameter combined drill and end mill tool.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator using a collet chuck or end mill holder sized to 3/16 inch bore. The tool should be seated fully in the holder and torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before operation. Verify runout at the tool tip before cutting, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to holder concentricity. Never exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material to avoid tool breakage.
