The HARVEY TOOL 27247-C3 is a miniature solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision material removal in tight-tolerance machining operations. Built to a 0.047-inch diameter with a 0.141-inch length of cut and a 0.010-inch corner radius, this single-end, centercutting tool handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. The 30-degree helix and four right-hand spiral flutes promote efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating extends tool life in abrasive and elevated-temperature cutting environments. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.125 inches in diameter, and the tool runs 1.5 inches overall length.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials. Its stub and standard miniature series geometry makes it a practical choice for mold and die work, aerospace component finishing, medical device machining, and any application requiring accurate corner radii at small diameters. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, which broadens its use in slotting and pocket milling operations. It fits standard toolholders accepting a 0.125-inch shank.
Designed for use with standard collet-style toolholders accepting a 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles used in precision miniature milling operations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before tool changes. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder to the recommended grip length to minimize runout and deflection at this small diameter. Verify spindle speed and feed rates against the cutting conditions for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
