The HARVEY TOOL 26524 is a solid carbide drill mill designed to perform both drilling and milling operations in a single tool. With a 3/8 inch diameter and an 82-degree point angle, it transitions cleanly between center drilling, spot drilling, and peripheral milling without a tool change. The 4-flute geometry provides rigidity and a smooth finish in milling cuts, while the bright uncoated finish suits general-purpose work across a range of common engineering materials. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a 3/8 inch shank diameter. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, toolrooms, and production environments rely on this type of tool to reduce setup time and tool carousel slots.
This drill mill is suited for use on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC routers where combined drilling and end milling operations are required in a single setup. The 7/8 inch length of cut allows for moderate-depth pocketing and slot milling in addition to the spotting and drilling functions. It is appropriate for use in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites where an uncoated carbide tool is specified. The 82-degree point angle is a common standard for countersinking to match 82-degree flat-head fastener geometry as well.
Designed as a standard drill mill for use in 3/8 inch collets, end mill holders, or shrink-fit toolholders on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills requiring combined drilling and milling capability.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended grip length before torquing the retention nut to the toolholder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping before beginning the cut.
