The HARVEY TOOL 24678-C3 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precise milling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. With a 5/64 inch (0.0780 inch decimal) cutting diameter and a 0.1170 inch reach length, this stub-length tool is built for tight-tolerance work in confined spaces and shallow cavities. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry paired with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating extends tool life in ferrous materials by improving heat resistance and surface hardness. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary users of this end mill in production and prototype environments.
This ball end mill is suited for light roughing and finishing passes in ferrous workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Its stub length classification and straight cylindrical shank make it well-suited for use in high-speed CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and precision milling fixtures where minimal overhang is critical to maintaining dimensional accuracy. The 1/8 inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collets and end mill holders used in small-format CNC setups.
