The HARVEY TOOL 24662-C3 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling in ferrous materials. With a 0.062-inch cutting diameter, 4-flute helical geometry, and an AlTiN PVD coating, it is built for both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The stub length configuration keeps deflection low during aggressive cuts on small-radius features. This end mill is used by machinists and tooling professionals working on CNC milling machines in job shops, production floors, and precision manufacturing environments.
This tool is well-suited for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron in applications requiring tight tolerances and fine surface finishes. The 0.093-inch length of cut and 1.5-inch overall length make it a practical choice for shallow-pocket and contour work where rigidity and minimal tool runout are essential. Its right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC mill setups.
Designed for use in CNC milling machines with standard straight-bore collet systems accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron per material codes P, M, and K.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is placed in an E-stop or lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet to the recommended minimum engagement depth and verify runout with a dial indicator before production use. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and cut depth.
