The HARVEY TOOL 24659-C3 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hard materials. With a 1.50 mm (0.0590 inch) cutting diameter and a stub-length reach of 0.0890 inches, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work where rigidity and accuracy matter. The 4-flute geometry supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single pass. An AlTiN PVD coating extends tool life in abrasive materials by reducing heat buildup at the cutting edge. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers running high-speed or high-precision work will find this tool suited to small-feature milling in production and prototype environments.
This end mill is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces, covering ISO material groups P, M, and K. The stub length configuration keeps the flute length to 0.0890 inches, minimizing deflection during fine detail work. It fits a standard 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank, compatible with common collet and tool-holder systems found on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Single-end design means the tool is replaced rather than reversed when worn, maintaining consistent geometry run to run.
Designed for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (ISO material groups P, M, and K). Fits 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical collets and tool holders. Part of the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills - Ball - Stub and Standard series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety protocols. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully into the collet and tighten to the tool-holder manufacturer's specified torque using calibrated tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as miniature-diameter tools are sensitive to even minor misalignment. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
