The HARVEY TOOL 24635-C3 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 0.90 mm (0.0350 inch) mill diameter, a 4-flute spiral configuration, and a 30-degree right-hand helix, this single-end tool delivers consistent performance in both roughing and finishing operations. The AlTiN PVD coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous materials at elevated surface speeds. The stub-length geometry keeps the tool rigid and reduces deflection during tight-tolerance passes.
This end mill is suited for mold and die work, precision component machining, and intricate profiling where a standard-size tool cannot reach or where minimizing tool deflection is critical. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet systems commonly found on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles used in tool rooms and production environments. The stub length-of-cut supports aggressive chip evacuation in these materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit option for applications requiring a 0.90 mm ball end mill with a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with standard 1/8-inch collet holders on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles. Part of the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills - Ball - Stub and Standard series.
This tool is installed by a machinist or CNC setup technician using a compatible collet or tool holder rated for the 1/8-inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle and machine are fully stopped and the program is cleared before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer to prevent pullout during cutting. At this diameter, even minor runout will affect tool life and surface finish, so verify runout with a dial indicator before starting a production run.
