The HARVEY TOOL 24562 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking applications. With a 0.062-inch cutting diameter, a 0.093-inch length of cut, and a 2-flute helical geometry at a 30-degree helix angle, this tool is built for both roughing and finishing passes in tight, detailed features. The stub-length configuration provides rigidity in short-reach setups. The bright, uncoated carbide surface is suited for a wide range of workpiece materials. A 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank and 1.5-inch overall length make it compatible with standard collet systems on CNC mills and manual knee mills alike.
This end mill is intended for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. The miniature diameter makes it appropriate for engraving, slot milling, contour work, and detail passes on small components or complex 3D surfaces. It is well suited for tool and die, mold making, medical device machining, and aerospace part work where fine feature geometry is required. Single-end configuration means the cutting end is not reversible, and right-hand cutting and flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature ball end mill for use in standard 1/8-inch collet toolholders on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and high-speed spindles. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals per manufacturer material codes P, M, K, and N.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or collet is secured before inserting or removing the end mill. Use a precision collet sized for a 1/8-inch shank and torque the collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. At this diameter, tool runout should be minimized during setup to avoid premature wear or breakage.
