The HARVEY TOOL 24347-C6 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 3/64 inch (0.047 inch) cutting diameter and a 9/64 inch (0.141 inch) length of cut, this tool delivers tight-tolerance performance in small-feature work. The 5-flute geometry combined with a variable 44-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and reduces chatter, making it well-suited for finishing passes in harder materials. An AlTiN coating adds thermal resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in high-speed dry or near-dry cutting conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed milling machines where small-diameter, tight-tolerance work is required. It is commonly applied in die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and medical device manufacturing where fine features in hardened or abrasive materials demand both rigidity and cutting efficiency. The 1/8 inch shank diameter makes it compatible with standard collet systems used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Note that this tool is not center-cutting, so it is not designed for plunge entry; peripheral and profile milling are the intended operations.

This end mill is installed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician using a precision collet or shrink-fit holder sized for the 1/8 inch shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool; excessive runout at this diameter will accelerate wear and compromise feature accuracy. Because this tool is not center-cutting, program tool paths to avoid direct plunge moves into solid material.
