The HARVEY TOOL 23413-C3 is a solid carbide counterbore designed for precise counterboring operations in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from solid carbide with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) finish, it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in demanding cutting environments. The cutter features a 0.2031-inch cutting diameter and a 1/4-inch shank diameter, with a 3/4-inch flute length that controls chip evacuation efficiently. Four flutes provide a smooth, stable cut in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. At 0.06 pounds, this is a compact, precision ground tool suited to production and job-shop machining work.
This counterbore is used to create flat-bottomed recesses for socket head cap screws and similar fasteners in precision machined components. It is well suited to CNC machining centers and manual mills in job-shop, toolroom, and production floor environments. The small cutting diameter and 2-1/2-inch overall length make it appropriate for close-tolerance work in steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar machinable materials where surface finish and recess accuracy are critical.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide counterbore for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4-inch shank collet or chuck configuration.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the 1/4-inch shank firmly in a collet or end mill holder before operation and verify runout before cutting. Power down the spindle completely before tooling changes. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
