The HARVEY TOOL 20250-C3 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for high-precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications. It features a 1/32 inch (0.0312 inch) diameter cutting edge with a 130-degree point angle, providing a sharper entry geometry suited for hard materials and thin workpieces. The bit carries an AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride) coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and abrasive materials. With a spiral flute design and right-hand cut, it evacuates chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole operations. This drill bit is installed and used by machinists and toolroom technicians working on precision components.
This miniature drill bit is well-suited for small-diameter drilling operations in industries such as aerospace, medical device manufacturing, electronics, and precision machining. The 1/8 inch shank diameter allows it to be held in standard collets and chucks commonly found on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and high-speed spindles. The 0.395 inch flute length and 1.5 inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow to moderate depth holes in applications where rigidity and minimal deflection are priorities.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and high-speed spindles equipped with standard 1/8 inch collets or drill chucks. Suitable for ferrous alloys, hardened steels, and abrasive materials where carbide tooling and AlTiN coating are appropriate.
This drill bit should be installed and operated by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Ensure the spindle, collet, and chuck are clean and properly tensioned before seating the shank to prevent runout. Micro drill bits are brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed adjustments, and manually forcing the tool. Always verify machine RPM and feed rate settings are appropriate for the diameter and workpiece material before running the spindle.
