The HARVEY TOOL 20240-C3 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight-tolerance, small-diameter applications. It measures 0.0302 inches in diameter with a 130-degree drill point angle and a total overall length of 1.5 inches. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in harder workpiece materials. With a right-hand cutting direction and spiral flute geometry, it evacuates chips efficiently at small diameters. This drill is part of the HARVEY TOOL Miniature Drills series, intended for machinists, tool and die makers, and precision fabricators working in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and high-speed spindle applications.
This micro drill is suited for precision work in metals, composites, and other hard materials where small-diameter, tight-tolerance holes are required. The 1/8-inch shank diameter makes it compatible with standard collets and chucks used in CNC milling machines, machining centers, and precision drill presses. Typical applications include aerospace component fabrication, medical device manufacturing, electronics assemblies, and mold and die work requiring fine-feature drilling. The 0.3950-inch flute length provides adequate chip clearance for shallow-to-moderate depth holes at this diameter range.

Installation and use of this drill should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Ensure the spindle, collet, and chuck are clean and properly torqued before running the tool. Micro drills are extremely fragile at this diameter range and require appropriate spindle speeds, minimal runout, and controlled feed rates to prevent breakage. Power down and lock out all equipment before changing tooling in accordance with applicable shop safety procedures.
