The HARVEY TOOL 18645-C3 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for precision chamfering, deburring, and edge-breaking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The tool features a 1/2 inch cutter head diameter with four flutes and a double-end configuration, allowing right-hand cutting with efficient chip evacuation. An AlTiN coating extends tool life by improving heat resistance and reducing friction at the cutting edge. With a 3 inch overall length and 1/2 inch shank diameter, this chamfer mill fits standard toolholding systems used in CNC milling and manual machining environments. It is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom professionals working with precision metalworking equipment.
This chamfer mill is suited for use in production machining, job shops, and toolroom applications where consistent chamfer quality is required. The 90 degree included angle makes it a standard choice for chamfering drilled holes, preparing weld joints, and breaking sharp edges on machined components. The solid carbide construction supports use on materials including alloy steels, stainless steels, and hardened workpieces where tool rigidity and cutting performance are critical.
Designed for use in 1/2 inch toolholders including collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic chucks compatible with 1/2 inch shank tooling on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or removing the tool. Verify shank seating depth in the toolholder meets minimum engagement requirements to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Do not exceed the machine spindle speed and feed rate recommendations for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
