The HARVEY TOOL 18024 is a single-end cobalt chamfer mill designed for deburring, chamfering, and edge-breaking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 3/8 inch cutter head diameter and a 90-degree included angle, this tool produces clean, consistent chamfers in a single pass. The 4-flute geometry provides smooth chip evacuation and improved surface finish. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 3/16 inch length of cut, it is suited for light-duty chamfering in standard milling setups. The bright/uncoated finish makes it appropriate for use with coolant or cutting oil in conventional machining applications. Machinists and toolroom professionals installing in CNC machining centers or manual mills will find this a straightforward drop-in tool.
This chamfer mill is intended for use in milling machines, CNC machining centers, and similar rotary cutting setups. It is appropriate for production chamfering, part deburring, and countersink preparation on workpieces requiring a 90-degree chamfer profile. The right-hand cutting direction and 3/8 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard ER and end mill collet systems commonly found in shop environments. Typical applications include edge preparation before welding, thread relief chamfering, and cosmetic edge finishing on machined components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use chamfer mill for standard milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter toolholder.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practices. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention system per the machine manufacturer's specifications. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and never exceed the recommended depth of cut for the stated length of cut.
