The HARVEY TOOL 17808 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling in tight geometries and hard-to-reach areas. With a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) mill diameter, a 2-flute configuration, and a tapered reach design, this tool delivers clean cutting performance on features requiring extended access without sacrificing rigidity. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation across a broad range of workpiece materials. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and general-purpose steel applications. Installed by machinists and tooling professionals, this end mill fits standard CNC machining centers and manual mills with a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This end mill is built for precision work in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials. The tapered reach geometry provides clearance when milling slots, pockets, contours, and three-dimensional profiles in confined workspaces. The center-cutting capability allows plunge entry, making it practical for cavity work and die-mold applications. It is a single-end tool intended for both roughing and finishing operations at the miniature scale where standard end mills cannot reach or fit.
Compatible with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous, and hardened materials. Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the HARVEY TOOL Miniature End Mills - Ball - Tapered Reach (Clearance Cutters) series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Secure the 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder torqued to the machine manufacturer specification before operation. Inspect the tool holder for runout before first use, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Follow all applicable shop safety protocols and machine guarding requirements when changing tooling.
