The HARVEY TOOL 17336-C3 is a solid carbide helical flute thread mill designed to cut 10-32 unified fine threads in both internal and external applications. It features 3 flutes with an AlTiN coating for improved heat resistance and tool life in ferrous materials. The cutter diameter measures 0.1500 inches, the shank diameter is 0.1875 inches (3/16 inches), and the overall length is 2.3750 inches. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management during threading operations. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC programmers in precision machining environments.
The 17336-C3 is suited for threading operations on parts requiring 10-32 UNF threads in both blind and through-hole configurations, as well as external thread forms. With a length of cut of 0.3120 inches and a minimum nominal diameter of 0.1900 inches, it handles typical 10-32 fastener thread depths found in light mechanical assemblies, instrument housings, and precision components. The helical flute geometry allows single-pass threading with a standard helical interpolation toolpath on a CNC machining center.

Thread milling requires a CNC machining center with helical interpolation capability. Ensure the tool holder is clean and the collet is properly torqued before operation. Program the toolpath using the correct helical pitch and direction for the target thread specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use, as carbide tools are brittle and sensitive to handling damage.
