The HARVEY TOOL 17236 is a double-end corner rounding end mill designed to machine precise convex radius profiles on workpiece edges. Constructed from solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool features a 6.00 mm (0.236 inch) radius and a 2-flute geometry optimized for the flared corner rounding profile. With a bright, uncoated finish, it is ready for use as-supplied or compatible with operator-applied lubricants and cutting fluids. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments rely on this geometry to eliminate sharp edges and produce clean, repeatable corner radii without secondary deburring operations.
This end mill is suited for edge profiling and corner rounding operations on milled components in both manual and CNC machining centers. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life per unit. Its 5/8 inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER and side-lock toolholders commonly found in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Typical applications include finishing passes on aluminum, steel, and titanium components where a controlled radius is required by engineering drawing callout.
Designed for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter toolholder; belongs to the Corner Rounding End Mills - 2 and 4 Flute - Flared series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout condition before loading or removing the tool. Seat the 5/8 inch shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator after tool change to confirm proper seating.
