The HARVEY TOOL 15332 is a solid carbide drill mill designed for combined drilling and milling operations in a single tool. With a 0.5000 inch cutting diameter, 4 flutes, and a 90 degree point angle, it handles center drilling, spotting, chamfering, and peripheral milling without a tool change. The 1 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length make it well suited for moderate-depth work in a standard toolholder. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for a wide range of base materials. Machinists and CNC operators in job shop, production, and toolroom environments rely on drill mills like this one to reduce setup time and consolidate operations on machining centers and CNC mills.
This drill mill is used in applications where drilling, chamfering, and end milling must occur in the same workpiece setup. Typical scenarios include spotting holes before drilling, cutting 90 degree chamfers on through-holes, and performing light side-milling or slotting passes. The 4-flute geometry provides good surface finish on milling passes while still allowing chip evacuation during drilling. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders on vertical machining centers and CNC routers.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production drill mill for use in ER collet chucks, end mill holders, or hydraulic toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or tool-change state before loading the tool into the holder. Verify runout at the cutting diameter after installation using an indicator before beginning a cut. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for set screws or collet nuts; do not overtighten collet nuts, as this can induce runout and reduce tool life.
