The HARVEY TOOL 15232-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter and 4 flutes, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 1 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length make it well-suited for moderate-depth slotting, profiling, and contouring operations. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life, especially in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions at higher feed rates and spindle speeds. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms will find this end mill compatible with standard vertical mills and CNC machining centers.
This end mill is used in applications requiring precise square shoulder profiles and clean side walls. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces chatter across a range of work materials including alloy steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and hardened materials. Its right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation match conventional milling setups. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, side-lock holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems without modification. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry into the workpiece when the job requires it.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 1/2 inch toolholders, ER collets, side-lock holders, and shrink-fit systems on vertical mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by machinists and CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque retention hardware according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate tool wear and reduce surface finish quality.
