The HARVEY TOOL 14104-20 is a single-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling in tight-tolerance applications. With a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) cutter diameter and a 1/4 inch length of cut, this tool is built for small-feature work where rigidity and accuracy are critical. The 22-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation in an upcut configuration, reducing heat buildup and improving surface finish. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites where coating adhesion or reactivity is a concern. At 2 inches overall length with a 1/4 inch shank, it mounts securely in standard collet chucks and tool holders.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, high-precision cutting is required. Typical applications include engraving, slot milling, and fine detail work in aluminum, brass, copper, acrylic, and similar soft-to-medium materials. The single-flute geometry provides maximum chip clearance, which is especially important at this diameter where recutting chips can cause tool breakage. Machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators in job shops, prototype facilities, and production environments rely on this tool class for micromachining tasks.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard 1/4 inch collet or end mill holder tooling systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. At this diameter, feeds and speeds must be set conservatively to avoid tool breakage; refer to the manufacturer cutting data for the specific workpiece material.
