The HARVEY TOOL 14047-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. With a 3/64 inch (0.0470 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.07 inch length of cut, this tool is built for fine detail work and small-feature machining. The 4-flute, 30-degree helix spiral configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life when cutting ferrous and hardened materials. The 1/8 inch shank diameter and 1-1/2 inch overall length make it a compact, rigid choice for high-speed machining centers and CNC mills. Installed by machinists and tooling technicians in production and job shop environments.
This end mill is suited for precision slot milling, profiling, and contouring in small-envelope workpieces. It performs in ferrous metals, hardened steels, and similar materials where an AlTiN-coated carbide tool is the appropriate choice. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, expanding its application to pocketing and 3D contouring operations. Its compact diameter makes it especially relevant for mold and die work, medical component machining, and aerospace detail parts where fine features are required.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8 inch collets or matching tool holders. Compatible with standard ER-style collet chucks accepting 1/8 inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before installing or removing the end mill. Secure the shank to the specified collet torque per the tool holder manufacturer guidelines. At this diameter, runout control is critical — verify TIR with an indicator before beginning any cut sequence.
