The HARVEY TOOL 14040-C3 is a miniature square end mill designed for high-precision milling in tight tolerances and small-feature applications. Built from solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN coating, it delivers hardness and heat resistance suited to demanding cutting conditions. The tool measures 0.04 inches in cutting diameter with a 1/16-inch length of cut (LOC) and runs four flutes at a 30-degree helix angle. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Machinists and toolmakers working in die, mold, and micro-component applications are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for finishing passes and small-feature profiling in non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and composites where a miniature cutting diameter is required. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and toolholding systems found on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles. The 1-1/2-inch overall length provides adequate reach while maintaining rigidity at this diameter. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard.
Designed for use with 1/8-inch collet toolholding systems on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles requiring a miniature square end mill profile.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully and evenly in the collet before tightening to the collet nut torque specification for that toolholder system. At this cutting diameter, runout control is critical — use a quality collet and verify runout before production cutting.
